If you need to add or change your Internet Access Phone Number, it is strongly recommended you verify your User ID and Domain Name Servers (DNS) as well. Follow the instructions below to update your Internet Access Phone Number, User ID, and DNS.

To change the access Telephone Number ...

  1. Double-click on My Computer and then double-click on Dial-Up Networking.

  2. Right-click the DUN connection you use to connect to Multi-Tech -internet and select Properties. You can also single-click on the DUN connection you use to connect to Multi-Tech and select Properties from the File menu.

  3. With the General tab selected, write down the contents of the Telephone Number field before deleting it.

  4. Enter the new phone number in the Telephone Number field and include any dial prefixes used with the old number (for example, *70 followed by a comma to disable call waiting, and/or a 9 followed by a comma to connect to an outside line with a PBX phone system).

Please check with your local telephone company to determine if any tolls apply when using the number provided to you by MUlti-Tech. We assume no responsibility for any long distance charges that you may incur. Often just dialing the number and listening for the modem signal doesn't mean thta "interlateral charges" are'nt involved.

To verify the Domain Name Servers (DNS)

  1. Select the Server Types tab or button.

  2. Click TCP/IP Settings.

  3. For the Primary DNS server, enter 209.142.193.002

  4. For the Secondary DNS server enter: 206.084.184.002

  5. Click OK. Click OK again.

To update the User name

  1. Double-click the icon you use to connect to Multi-Tech -online (for example, "myconnection 56K") on the Dial-Up Networking window.

  2. Write down the contents of the User name field before deleting. Enter your assigned name in the User name field (for example, myname@teleweb.net).

  3. You will need to connect to Multi-Tech for the updated User name and password to be saved.
