CONFIGURING NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR FOR WINDOWS 95-98

Before you begin installing Netscape Navigator for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, you should exit any running applications. Follow the below directions.

Download the latest Netscape browser here

Note: If Netscape Navigator is already installed on your system, go to Program Files and locate your Netscape folder.

Upon successful installation, double-click the Account Setup Wizard icon in your Netscape folder to setup your account.

Click the Next button.

Select I already have a service provider, then click the Next button.

Name your easy access icon Multi-Tech, then click the Next button.

Click the Next button.

Click the Next button.

Type your full name and your company in their respective fields (as shown in the above example). If you do not have a company, type Multi-Tech 56K, then click the Next button.

Type your Login name (i.e. myassignedname) and your Password, then click the Next button. Note: Type your login name and password listed on your Dial-Up e-mail Configuration Sheet.

Click the Next button. You DO NOT have a separate password for your Email Login.

Type the Area Code and Phone Number your modem will dial to connect to Multi-Tech. Note: Type the area code and telephone number listed on your Dial-Up Configuration Sheet.

Your configuration should match the above example. Then click the Next button.

Again, your configuration should match the above example. Then click the Next button.

Use the drop-down menu to select your modem, then click the Next button.

Type the Area code and Telephone number you are calling from, then click the Next button.See POP phone # list for local numbers

If your telephone line has Call Waiting, click Disable Call Waiting with, and use the drop-down menu to select the appropriate code (i.e. *70,), then click the Next button. Note: If your telephone line does not have Call Waiting, click the Next button.

You have successfully configured Netscape Navigator. Click the Finish button.

In the Program menu, double-click the shortcut to Multi-Tech icon to connect or drag and create a shortcut on your desktop to Multi-Tech. See POP phone # list for local numbers

Type your Password, then click the Connect button. Note: Type the password listed on your Dial-Up Configuration Sheet.

After you connect to Multi-Tech 56K, Netscape will automatically take you into its browser so that you can surf the Internet. Set the home page for http://www.multi-techcx.com for easy browsing.
