1. How far along is Multi-Tech with its Year 2000 Program?
As described on the Multi-Tech Year 2000 Program page, Multi-Tech has adopted a formal Year 2000 Program. Multi-Tech has substantially completed the inventory phase of the Year 2000 Program for both its IT Systems and Non-IT Systems and has completed a majority of the assessment phase of the Year 2000 Program for the IT Systems and Non-IT Systems. Multi-Tech anticipates that it will complete the first two phases for such systems during the first quarter of 1999. The Year 2000 Program calls for the completion of all six phases for both IT and Non-IT Systems by the end of the second quarter of 1999.

2. Is Multi-Tech concerned that the Year 2000 problem will cause problems for its subscribers and business partners?
Multi-Tech supplies its customers with a software packages that, among other things, allows its customers to access the Internet and the company's services. The software packages consists of Microsoft and Netscape browsers which are bundled with third party software. Multi-Tech believes that the current shipping version of its software package is Year 2000 ready. In addition, the Company believes that substantially all of its customer base is presently using a version of the software package that is Year 2000 ready. E-mail your questions

3. What is Multi-Tech doing to ensure that its vendors and third party network service providers are Year 2000 ready?
As an Internet service provider, Multi-Tech is heavily dependent on a significant number of third party vendors to provide both network services and equipment. Multi-Tech's Year 2000 Program calls for Multi-Tech to identify and assess the systems and services of its major vendors, third party network service providers and other material service providers, and take appropriate remedial actions and develop contingency plans where appropriate in connection with such systems.

The Company has performed a technical review of many of the more critical third party systems and has surveyed the publicly available statements issued by the vendors of such systems. Additionally, the Company has recently sent inquiry letters to its significant third party systems providers requesting information regarding their vulnerability to Year 2000 issues and whether the products and services purchased from such entities are Year 2000 compliant. Multi-Tech is not presently aware of any vendor related Year 2000 issue that is likely to result in a disruption of service.


4. How important is the Year 2000 readiness effort?
Continuing to provide services to our customers before, on, and after January 1, 2000 is a top priority for Multi-Tech and for the team of Multi-Tech personnel involved in the Year 2000 readiness effort. Please be assured that Multi-Tech began addressing the Year 2000 readiness issue early on and is diligently working on solutions that will provide a consistent standard of service to our customers.
